The breaking bad reference is because the main character, Walter White, was a chemistry teacher in the show. The opening title sequence ended with the logo, which was "Breaking Bad" with the Br and B framed as elements on a chalkboard green periodic table. It was white on green with gold trim in some logos so it does resemble your necklace.
